When we look at our own lives it is easy to see what is going wrong, what needs improved, or where things might be a little lacking. But it can be equally easy to see what is in abundance and where our blessings lie, if we choose.
So where is my abundance? Today got off to a rocky start. My preschooler and I got off schedule researching the different types of rocks we found. It left a few bumps in getting things done, but it was beautiful getting to spend that time together on a rare day the youngest slept in. For that matter, it was nice having an abundance of time today as I got to get ready without a toddler running around, researched with my preschooler, and then had a full morning of activities with both girls since the toddler didn't need to nap. This led to the youngest going down for her afternoon nap early which meant more one-on-one time with my oldest. There was plenty of abundance in our schedule today! I'm grateful to have an abundance of time for my girls who are growing so fast.
But is there abundance in any other areas of my life? How about the abundance of love from the abundance of friends and family in my life? Absolutely! I'm grateful that even in these pandemic times there have been an abundance of ways to connect with my support network and the people I love.
There is definitely an abundance of food in the home as I just got groceries. It always feels good to have so many healthy options to give my family right after a grocery order. And I'm grateful for the abundance of stores that are doing curbside pickup these days. I'm grateful to be able to feed my family healthy meals and be able to grab food quickly from my car without it being fast food.
We have had an abundance of nice days here for being mid November. We had an abundance of beauty as the leaves changed color and even now as they have fallen it gives us an abundance of fun jumping in the piles. I'm grateful for the abundance of trees in our neighborhood to provide so many leaves. I'm grateful for the enormous piles at my parents' home as well.
I'm grateful to take a moment and think about all the abundance around me. I'm grateful to sit here and have gratitude easily come to mind. I'm grateful for the amazing people in my life that help me reframe when I forget to look at all that is right. I'm grateful to be able to provide that for others as well. I'm grateful for my amazing kids who truly amaze me each day with all they are learning and doing. I'm grateful for a good long time today to make playdoh turkeys and do turkey themed dances with them. I'm grateful for Thanksgiving being near.
Where is your abundance? What are you grateful for today?
May today give us time to truly count our blessings. May we see that there is always abundance around us in some form or another. Have a beautiful day!
