Now I don't walk in their shoes and therefore I cannot judge their attitude. Being able bodied and surrounded by loved ones I have a blessed life. And when I read the combination of holidays today I honestly felt a bit of cosmic humor. The ones I am caregiver to include two elderly dogs and a nearly 18 month old daughter. Most days my "job" is fun but today I have no preset expectations as my daughter got shots yesterday and spent the evening between fussing and all out wailing.
Perhaps I will have a grouch on my hands today or perhaps a good snooze has melted that away. I accept either scenario as a mom and will make the best of it. But none-the-less I got a good chuckle. So who could a do a favor for today?
I'm grateful for a good night's sleep for my daughter (and myself). I'm grateful to start a new day with no expectations. I'm grateful to accept the possibilities today holds and to commit to greeting any of them with a positive attitude. I'm grateful to entertain fun ways in my head that I could cheer up a "grouch". I'm grateful to be a caregiver to a wonderful little girl and two sweet pups. And I'm grateful for all the caregivers out there that give their lives to helping those in need.
Who do you care for? How can you cheer someone that is having a rough day?
May today open our hearts to helping those in need. May we be graced with the joy that helping others brings. Have a beautiful day!
