It also did not take long for me to decide she would not be spending the night alone in her crib. Snuggled up we got a bit more sleep and it allowed me to be conscious of her temperature all night. Normally I am not one for co-sleeping but last night being next to her and weathering the spikes and discomfort together eased my mind and helped her get some sleep.
As we rested, it was good to feel her skin against mine. When she was born we did skin to skin contact a lot but as she has grown the time has dwindled. Last night it was a good way to reassure both of us as we weathered her sickness together.
I'm grateful for a spare bedroom. I'm grateful to be there when my baby needs me. I'm grateful for the reassurance holding her all night gave to both of us. I'm grateful to feel her skin and be able to respond when the fever spiked. I'm grateful she is feeling a little better today and I'm grateful that our calendar is mostly clear today so we can both rest and recover from the night.
Who needs your help as they weather their own storm? Who do you reach out to when you need help?
May today remind us how supported we are and may we step up and be there for those that need us. Have a beautiful day!
