I love gazing up at the night sky so of course I rushed over to see. I watched as it twinkled, shining so brightly. What a cheerful sight to start the day! But why does it twinkle?
My husband and I used to do Science Mondays but have not gotten back into that since the baby was born. Mostly it has gotten pushed aside because I am at work Monday nights. I love to learn and my husband is full of knowledge he loves to share.
He reminded me about the atmosphere and how it makes it appear to twinkle even though it really isn't. Then he went on to talk about the phases of Venus being similar to the phases of the moon and how we couldn't see a "Full" Venus, like the moon, but we could see a "Full" Mars if caught at the right time.
As I listened to him talk I was transported back to when we were dating. I used to try to come up with the craziest or most random question and then listen to him answer much to my amazement or look it up together if it was something he didn't know.
I'm grateful to Venus for having a time travel effect. I'm grateful for a morning of being transported through time, back to dating. I'm grateful to learn, or rather re-learn these facts about Venus. I'm grateful for my husband's vast knowledge of planets and stars as well as so much more. I'm grateful when I am able to share my knowledge too. And I'm grateful for the ability to allow myself to get lost in the wonderlust of the beauty around me.
What makes your morning twinkle? What subjects do you enjoy to learn?
May today remind us the beauty and vastness of what we see. May we find joy in learning and in sharing knowledge. Have a beautiful day!
