For starters, the weather will be beautiful today. I have the opportunity to get out of the house and get some errands done if I choose. Perhaps I can fit in another walk like my husband and I shared last night. And tonight I get to work, seeing some clients and making a little money.
I won't lie, there was some convincing this morning. The wish to simply curl up and go back to bed was present even if it is not truly an option. And as I stood there feeling the water wash over me, I thought about this duality of reality.
I allowed my imagination to drift and as I stared at the tiles in front of me. There in the natural texture of the stone I found a lamb facing a baby lion and within them a woman bowing her head. It seemed fitting. The acknowledgement of both aspects of myself is important. The many meanings gave me a smile and thus began the flow of genuine gratitude.
I'm grateful for the tile in our bathroom that inspires my imagination. I'm grateful for all the things I find in the natural texture. I'm grateful for the meaning this particular image holds and the reminder of the power of acknowledging both sides. I'm grateful to admit that I am not perfect and that gratitude is a practice even now. I'm grateful for the power of choice and to choose to see the beauty in today. And I'm grateful for the weather allowing a beautiful day to get outside.
What will you choose today? What image do you see in the tiles pictures above? What is your message today?
May today give us strength to be steadfast in our acceptance of ourselves. May we find the choice to be joyous an easy one today. Have a beautiful day!
