Sometimes, however, this level of preparation and thinking becomes a tangled web of thought. The mental to do list and monkey chatter of a backup plan can begin adding stress instead of relieving it. During these times I find great joy in not thinking.
Meditation helps me to clear the thoughts. Mornings like this where I am still tired are perfect because my mind is easy to give in to the guided relaxation. Much like dusting the house, meditation dusts the cobwebs of my mind giving me a fresh slate.
I'm grateful for meditation. I'm grateful to be a planner and equally grateful to let it go for a time so I can recenter. I'm grateful to find joy in just being as I erase the cobwebs. I'm grateful for the feeling of renewal I get after meditating. And I'm grateful for mornings like this that lend itself to meditation well.
When was the last time you dusted your mind? What gives you joy?
May today remind us the importance of balance. May we find joy in the activities of today. Have a beautiful day!
