In a field filled with waiting rooms and more exam rooms that doctors it was so refreshing to find a doctor who actually gave her time as if she had an infinite amount.
From there I went to a networking meeting and reconnected with a great chiropractic physician. In our chat I saw many ways I could further help my clients through the benefits of this connection. And despite my being late to the meeting, he took the time to give me his undivided attention until both of us were required to go to other engagements.
Last night was family dinner with my parents. Often times my mom and daughter will sneak off to the back playroom while my dad, husband, and I have talks about the current news. Usually I go back several times to peek in on them and play a little before returning to the living room. Last night we all made our way back to the playroom and I got to witness a heartwarming moment as my daughter asked my dad to play with her. There sat my daughter with my parents, all crawling around on the floor playing with a spacestation and aliens from my childhood. It was beautiful.
In a world driven by hectic schedules and distractions it was so beautiful to be reminded over and over again the beautiful gift we can give just in giving our time.
I'm so grateful for the beautiful experiences of yesterday. I'm grateful for a doctor who cares enough to take time to get to know her patients. I'm grateful for a great connection to help my own clients further their progress. I'm grateful for the joy of watching my parents play with my daughter. I'm grateful for the miracle she is and all the blessings she has brought to our lives. I'm grateful for the reminder of how important our undivided attention is as a gift to those we love. I'm grateful to have today to practice giving my attention and being present with my family and clients.
When was the last time you gave the gift of your time? Who would you love to spend time with without distractions?
May today remind us how easy it can be to be present. May we set aside our distractions and give our precious time to those we love. Have a beautiful day!
