My daughter is sleeping pretty well at night and we are getting into a schedule. Last night after putting my sweet girl to bed I went back down and sat with my husband. We talked. We talked about situations we had experienced before each other and what if scenarios. We talked about what we would have done in the other person's shoes. We talked about camping and trips. But the best part was, we talked.
It was such a beautiful blessing communicating with my husband on more than just when the baby ate last or how long one or the other will be gone for work. I got to reconnect to the woman in me that is more than a mom. I got to take a moment to process where I need more self-care and conscious attention.
I'm so grateful to reconnect to this side of myself. I'm grateful to connect with my husband through communication. I'm grateful to trade an hour of sleep for something that is so meaningful. I'm grateful for the way my husband thinks and for the conversations it inspires. I'm grateful to see our differences and our similarities. I'm grateful for a husband that is so supportive, loving, and patient.
Do you take time to communicate with the people you love? How can you find even ten minutes in your day to just connect to the people who are important to you?
May today bless us with the gifts of communication. May we speak from the heart with honesty and love. And may we find joy in the connections we build.
