It took quite a while and lots of creativity to paint the alcove as wooden planks and try to create an illusion of a sunken ship. Then with the help of sand paint and some textured wallpaper books we were able to create a textured mural, complete with turtles, fish, kelp, clams, and even a ray around her room.
As we prepare for my daughter's second birthday we turn our attention to the other bedroom. The theme my husband and I have in mind, trees! Our daughter loves to climb and the other bedroom lends itself so well with its vaulted ceiling.
Last night we stayed up way to late comparing notes and ideas for how to make the treehouse room "come to life." In my world, there is nothing better than letting the creativity flow and getting to share and expand on it with the man I love.
I'm grateful for the way creative projects energize me. I'm grateful to share ideas with my husband and build this idea together. I'm grateful for my over the top nature and his way of bringing the best pieces in. I'm grateful for the love I feel every time I go into our daughter's room. I'm grateful to build out the new room with the same eagerness and love. And I'm grateful to bring a little more nature into our home.
What makes you feel alive and excited? What sparks your creativity?
May today help us feel energized and alive. May we let the creativity flow in whatever way is best for the tasks at hand. Have a beautiful day!
