Studies have been done on the power of smiling. They reveal that smiling releases endorphins and serotonin. Endorphins are natural pain killers and serotonin is a natural anti-depressant. Much like the research behind laughter; smiling, even if it is fake, can provide these positive benefits.
I'm grateful to have lots to smile about today. I'm grateful for a great nights sleep. I'm grateful to have my husband home. I'm grateful to have two healthy dogs again. I'm grateful to feel beautiful in my new maternity outfit today. I'm grateful for the funny dream I had last night. And I'm grateful for the beautiful day full of smiles ahead of me.
