For starters, my new phone arrived. Spending the last few days getting acquainted with the new set up and customizations was small in comparison to having to try to operate a phone with only half a screen. The ability to see the whole keyboard to type a message and not have to guess where the letter would be was luxury alone!
Another luxury that helped make this weekend productive was my daughter having an all day playdate with her grandparents. I love my daughter very much but it is hard to be productive with a nearly two year old running around. The gardens are cleared of weeds, the grocery shopping is done, and the supplies for our next project are on the way.
I'm grateful for simple luxuries. I'm grateful for the help of my parents that allows me to get stuff done while giving my daughter a reprieve from sitting in carts and carseats all day. I'm grateful to have time to weed the garden. I'm grateful for the pride I feel pulling up to my house when the yard and gardens are freshly tended. I'm grateful for the excitement of a new project and to know the materials are coming to bring it to life. I'm grateful to step into a new week with some chores already completed. And I'm grateful to make a simple call or text with a full screen and all the other conveniences that come with a cell phone.
What are the simple luxuries in your life? What blessings did the weekend bring for you?
May today open our eyes to all the simple luxuries that make our lives easier each day. May we remember how blessed we are even when times are challenging. Have a beautiful day!
