I am grateful to wake up to the electricity being out this morning. I'm grateful for the silence as all the electronic hums of this house are muted and I'm grateful for only the sounds of the dogs breathing next to me, an occassional car, and the soft patter of rain. I'm grateful for the opportunity to get ready by the light of a latern. In a small way it reminds me of the simplicity of when I traveled and lived out of my car for a month. I'm grateful to have a small reminder of the joy of that simplicity!
I believe the way to a better future starts with gratitude today.
