I, personally, have the personality to over do it and overbook myself most every day of the week. So lately I have been trying for more balance; setting a pace for myself that is healthier. I vacuum in the morning or evening. I throw in a load of laundry here and there. This way it gives me a little less to do on the weekends. This has been extremely helpful since my Project JOY goal this month is focusing on friendships. By taking a few minutes here and there I have more time to nurture myself and still be social on the weekends. Of course, this also requires me to set pace with work which is a little harder, it seems, for me to remember. But that is just one of the beautiful practices of life and I'm grateful to say I'm trying.
I'm grateful to take time for myself last night and get a massage so my body could restore itself. I'm grateful to have set a more restorative pace for this weekend than last weekend's holiday. I'm grateful that my husband took care of some errands last night that were on my checklist, freeing up some more time for me. And I'm grateful to go out in celebration of my friend's birthday tonight and keep up with my monthly goal.
What pace have you set for yourself? Is it a pace that allows time for self-care or are you always on the run? May today bless you with plenty of time to nourish all your needs. May you find balance in setting a healthy pace. Have a beautiful day and weekend!
