Weather in the midwest is tricky. Sunday it was snowing. The first of the week is was cold and windy. Yesterday was in the sixties and sunny and now today it is supposed to be back to the thirties and snowing.
I looked at my daughter's face and thought, "how important are these errands?" But in all honesty it wasn't just for her; I needed some fresh air and sunshine too.
I went into work in the evening after our fun at the park. Yet I had a lighter night so I made it home with a little sunlight to spare. My husband asked if I wanted to take our daughter and go to the park with him. It would mean keeping our daughter up late but the only answer that made sense to me was yes.
Going to the park with her Daddy has been a rare event between him working full time during the day and the cold winter weather. We threw on jackets and hopped in the car. It was one hundred percent worth it!
I'm so grateful for a day to say "YES!" I'm grateful to put sunshine and play in priority above errands for the day. I'm grateful for my nice warm robe as I hear the wind howling outside bringing in the cold front. I'm grateful for an indoor playdate today. I'm grateful to have soaked up the sunshine yesterday to help get me through the next cold spell until Spring comes to stay. I'm grateful for the longer days of light and the birds singing good morning. I'm grateful for the reminder of how great it feels to say "yes."
What can you say yes to today? How can you add a little fun into your routine?
May today allow the time and flexibility to play. May we remember to say yes when the opportunity comes along. Have a beautiful day!
