My husband's alarm went off at 6 am and again around 6:10 am but we both just laid there. Apparently he was rolling with the feeling of needing more sleep too.
At 6:20 he crawled out of bed and started the morning ritual. As I laid there asking my body what it needed to overcome this excess sleepiness I realized I was still wanting my yoga stretches. Luckily I have a little leeway in my schedule this morning.
I'm grateful to listen to my body. I'm grateful to roll with the way it feels and honor its needs as best I can within my schedule. I'm grateful to allow those deep centered breathes and light yoga stretches to begin my day. I'm grateful for the extra rest as well. And I'm grateful to know that this simple ability to roll with the feelings and break routine will serve me best in the long run today. I'm grateful to start off on the "right" foot.
How did you feel this morning? Is there a way you can build in some leeway to your schedule to allow yourself these kinds of adjustments when needed? What does your body and mind need in the morning?
May today bless you with energy and a feeling of being centered. May you find balance in listening and honoring your body's needs. Have a beautiful day!
