Our trip was awesome. My daughter got to experience so many new things, from sand to mountain tops. She truly rolled with each adventure, even when the temperature dropped into the 30's and hail pounded our tent. It was a good reminder that as long as we are together it is all just one great adventure.
My husband cooked our meals and helped prepare camp each night. Every day was a new location so there was lots of set up and break down but it became a synchronized routine in teamwork. We got to bond as a family in a new way.
I'm so grateful for this much needed break. I'm grateful for the rejuvenation I feel after spending time in nature. I'm grateful for my husband's sense of adventure that matches my own. I'm grateful for my daughter's adventurous spirit and easy going nature that made our trip even better. I'm grateful for the pride I felt at being able to hike my daughter to the high point in Oklahoma. I'm grateful for the memory of watching her play in the sand dunes for the first time, experiencing the sand slipping through her little fingers. I'm grateful for the connection I feel to my husband as we reconnected and fine tuned our role as a team. I'm grateful to spend a little time with my cousin and her family. And I'm grateful to return home to our cozy beds and loving dogs. I'm grateful for this renewal and to feel so blessed!
How do you renew? What are your favorite memories of past adventures?
May today help us remember that adventures may be had at home as well as afar. May we grow closer to those we love with every interaction. Have a beautiful day!
