Now I have a choice to allow that emotion to travel with me through my day or release it and focus on the beauty of a new day. Which would you choose? I don't believe that "waking up on the wrong side of the bed" is something that happens TO us and lingers all day. I believe that while we may wake that way, we are in full control of whether we choose to stay there. It is always a choice. Today I choose gratitude.
I'm grateful to wake fairly rested. I'm grateful for sweet doggy kisses on my hand as comfort. I'm grateful for a hot shower and a cold glass of water to drink. I'm grateful to have had the foresight to pick out my outfit last night so I could just dress this morning without thinking. I'm grateful for my husband taking the time to sit with me at the table this morning as he drank his coffee. I'm grateful for the sound of motorcycles and even for the sound of our roommates alarm clock. It's going to be a beautiful day!
