It was an emotional dream and despite the urge to wake up and push it out of my mind as merely a dream, I stayed. I processed. And I healed another piece of that part of my past. When I woke in the wee hours of morning I laid for a long time, continuing to allow feelings to surface and process. And when my husband woke I gave him a big hug and told him about my dream and how much I love him.
Sometimes the past creeps into the present. When it does, it is usually because there is still something needing healed and processed. Significant events may need processed many times before all the layers have healed.
I'm grateful last night to have this opportunity to heal more of that past. I'm grateful to stay in the moment and in the feelings to allow them the space needed to heal. I'm grateful for my past that has taught me so much and helped me grow in immeasurable ways. And I'm grateful to know I do not need to repeat it, that those lessons were received.
I'm grateful for my ex-husband and all we learned together. I'm grateful for the sacrifices him and every soldier makes to do their job. I'm grateful for those families that face that challenge together. And I'm grateful for all those who support our troops, however that may look.
I'm grateful for my life today. I'm grateful to know I will wake to my husband every day (unless one of us is off on a fun vacation). I'm grateful to know we are safe. And I'm grateful to know that we love each other and are growing together. I'm grateful to start this day in peace, love, and gratitude.
Today is the only present and that is where our power sits. Yet sometimes reflecting on the past in order to heal or release it is important to building that power and our emotional health. What reflections from the past still creep into your awareness? Is there anything still needing healed there? What gratitude can you find in this moment around you?
May today bless you with an easy process of healing. May you find love and support all around you. And may you see all the beautiful things in your life to be grateful for today. Have a beautiful day!
