I'm so grateful to wake to the sound of raindrops today and their soft music on the window, roof, and trees. When I woke, the only one up in the house, it was like a little band playing just for me! It was such a soft, soothing melody that I did my morning meditation to that sound without the accompaniment of mantra or music from my iPod. It was so beautifully relaxing! What a perfect way to start a Friday! When I emerged from meditation the raindrops gave me a surge of gratitude, not only for the calm melody but because I saw that my dog who is normally terrified of rain was laying calmly outside my door. We were both in blissful peace. I'm so grateful to see her allowing the sound of rain. I'm grateful to share that moment and recognize its significance. I'm grateful to have had time to crawl back into bed and snuggle my beloved as he was just beginning to wake. It's taking these moments, being fully present, that I fall in love with my life. We live in such a beautiful World! When was the last time you took a moment to stop and just sit and listen to nature? When was the last time you truly paid attention to the everyday people and things in your environment? When was the last time you just allowed yourself to sigh out your worries and sit in peace? Last night my monkey mind was having a swing from the trees and run haywire kind of night. I felt like I couldn't process any one thing. Even trying to unwind before bed I found myself waking frequently and was worried I would be exhausted today. But the Universe saw me through and gave me the chance to refresh myself through meditation and gentle rain. I feel great! I'm so grateful to feel great! I'm grateful to still hear the soft patter on the roof to keep drawing me back to that place of peace. I'm grateful to feel the calmness in my body, mind and spirit. Take the time today to just breathe and be. Allow that calm bliss to wash over you. Be that ray of sunshine or that calm patter of rain for yourself and for those you love. It's catching. May your day be blessed with peace and may you share that peace with those you love. Have a beautiful day! Namasté.
