There are days we run, run, run and do all sorts of fun stuff and just when we are near exhaustion she gets to go down for nap and I go to work. Sometimes I just have to say, "enough."
This weekend I got some much needed relaxation time. I got to catch up with a good friend and just sit back for a few hours on Saturday. Sunday's schedule was packed but half way through I could tell the whole family was done so we canceled the rest the day and just played at home.
We need these breaks. We need slow day. We need days to unwind and days my daughter gets to just entertain herself. We all need R and R time.
I'm grateful for a weekend of much needed relaxation. I'm grateful for time with one of my best and long time friends. I'm grateful that even though we did not get as much sleep this weekend as we needed; we got a little rejuvenation anyway. I'm grateful for my beautiful family. I'm grateful for all the activities that are offered in our area. And I'm grateful to know when enough is enough and it is time to just unwind with some deck time.
What is your favorite what to unwind? How can you tell when it is time to cancel the day and just relax? How do you build in opportunities to relax throughout the week?
May today remind us that pausing is not stalling. May we remember to slow down and take in the beauty around us. Have a beautiful day!
