Well I succeeded and it felt great! In fact because I had trained for this 5K, when I never did in the past, I did better than I expected. I finished feeling like I could have even pushed myself a little harder. It inspired me to keep jogging and try to find another 5K to do this year.
Not only did participating give me a boost in confidence; it encouraged me to keep at it. Running is not my favorite activity but feeling the pride in that success made me want to try again and try harder.
I'm grateful to feel proud of myself. I'm grateful to not compare myself to others but simply be proud of my time and following through with this goal. I'm grateful for a 5K for a great cause that raises money to care for dogs in need. I'm grateful for all the dogs that came out yesterday to participate with their owners. And I'm grateful for my dogs, who even though they couldn't participate, are always in my heart. I'm grateful for a wonderful weekend that inspired pride and a renewed push.
What inspires you? What inspires your self-pride?
May today give us a boost of confidence. May we congratulate ourselves on the goals we accomplish. Have a beautiful day!
