She works so hard to eat, pass gas, poop, and observe her new world. Her persistence to get the right latch for food on her own and in figuring out how to inch worm herself across her activity mat are especially impressive. How many years have I taken for granted these everyday tasks? Do I still hold that level of persistence to accomplish what I want?
I'm grateful for all she is teaching me and the reminders she gives me each day. I'm grateful to have food to eat and the ability to eat one handed while holding my baby. I'm grateful for her alert times that remind me how much I take for granted in the everyday things around me. I'm grateful for her facial expressions as she takes in the view. And I'm grateful for the reminder to be persistent in the things I truly want.
When was the last time you just stared at the things around your home and really noticed your space? What is calling for persistence in your life?
May today offer us time to slow down and observe. May we find renewed beauty and persistence through our observations.
