I'm grateful for a good, restful nights sleep. I'm grateful for the storm last night and the high energy from the full moon. I'm grateful for the thunder shirt that allows my dog to also get some rest during stormy nights. I'm grateful for these cooler temperatures. I used to picture the perfect day as sunny and warm with a soft breeze and an evening around a campfire. I still love those kind of days but the more I look at what I am grateful for the more I see the beauty shining through in so many beautiful ways. As a photographer I appreciate the cloudy days because they make colors more vivd. I appreciate drifting white clouds that look like a moving painting, both for their own beauty and for the way it plays with the sun casting rays down and looking like God is speaking. I'm grateful for the rain. It's soothing sound and the way it nourishes my garden. If everyday were sunny, we would miss out on all the other forms of beauty. The same is true with perfection. If there was only one type of perfect and if we could define it so narrowly then we would miss the millions of other ways that perfection shows up. If I think about how the human body works, like an orchestra flowing and functioning together in so many ways we don't even notice other than the final product, I am in awe. And yet the universe is the same way. Each person playing their unique role to balance the whole. If we were all the same there would be no balance. The perfection is in our differences, even what we may see as flaws, these are what keep us in balance. If you believe in God or a higher power, how can you believe that power would create anything but perfection? Today I will take the time to love myself and celebrate my perfections. How can you love and celebrate your perfection today
I believe the way to a better future starts with gratitude today.
