It is amazing how much pausing for a breath or two or even three can help in how I respond to my world. There are lots of demands right now but if I just take a breath I can see that they are not so stressful as I believed.
Last night I began the practice and not only was I able to respond instead of react to demands but I slept better too! As I wake this morning part of me feel a little rushed. Yet I pause to take a breath. Each time I begin to feel that feeling creeping in, I pause and take a breath. It is going to be a wonderful day!
I'm grateful for air and oxygen that allows me to live. I'm grateful for the reminder to breathe. I'm grateful to be putting it into practice. I'm grateful for the way I feel when I slowing inhale and exhale a large breath. I'm grateful for each day I am breathing. And I'm grateful for the person I am when I take these moments to pause and breath.
When was the last time you took ten minutes to just sit and breathe? How would your day look if you stopped to take a breath before responding to demands?
May today provide us the oxygen and may we have the will to stop and fully enjoy it. Have a beautiful day!
