My soul is best supported in open spaces where street lights cannot blot out the brightness of stars. While that is not my current situation I do feel blessed to live in an area that has parks and walking trails in abundance.
The picture above is not untouched nature and yet man did their best to create beauty in its honor. This is only one of many parks in my area that I enjoy. I love being able to walk down the trail and get swallowed in the trees, the city disappearing.
I'm grateful for the area I live that values parks and trails. I'm grateful to live conveniently next to several styles of parks to best support my need for nature as well as fun playgrounds for my daughter. I'm grateful to allow the trees to swallow me as I walk and filter the city air from my lungs. I'm grateful to respect the city for its conveniences and the people I meet. And I'm grateful to live in an area that does its best to bring both worlds together. I'm grateful to give my daughter the gift of exploring nature and the joy it brings us.
Where is your favorite place to escape the city? What atmosphere feeds your soul? Do you have a favorite park or piece of land near you?
May today reconnect us to the beauty of nature. May we honor the balance and celebrate the blessings around us. Have a beautiful day!
