I'm grateful to wake in optimism today. I'm grateful to have gotten a good night's sleep and had several symbol filled dreams. I'm grateful to see my world is not only half full but overflowing. Often times I hear the phrase of the glass being half full or half empty. Many people I encounter joke that mine must be half full, working in the gratitude field. I would like to question our philosophy of having such a tall glass, setting always higher goals that lead to feeling like we never have or are quite enough. While I think goals are great and I myself am always striving for improvement I also make sure to honor who I am in my imperfectly perfect current form. A flower doesn't grow out of a seed because the seed was unworthy or inadequate. A flower grows by nourishing itself on what it was and accepting more from outside itself to grow into something more. So why do we settle for a glass half full? I propose we use a shorter glass, one of realistically set goals and filled with gratitude and self-love. I propose we let our glass overflow. How full is your glass? How much more can you I'm grateful to wake in self-love. I'm grateful to shorten my glass, not to achieve less but in acceptance of all I am and all I have already achieved. I'm grateful to honor my seed in it's current form as I use it to nourish the flower I am becoming. I'm grateful to start a new day with my cup overflowing. And I'm grateful to share this message with you in hopes that even just one of you will let your own cup overflow. I'm so grateful for all the beauty I am surrounded with everyday. And I'm grateful for the guidance and love I receive in so many ways. May your day be blessed with love. May your cup overflow in gratitude. And may your seedling be honored as it continues to bloom.
