As I was out front photographing this beautiful red leaf while trying to hold my sweet, squirmy child; my husband arrived home from work. I ran over so excited to tell him about the leaf. He smiled at me and then showed me that the tree on the north corner of our yard had many leaves already turning colors.
Somehow in all my comings and goings I had not noticed this tree was already turning. It was a good laugh and another reason to celebrate that Autumn has arrived.
I may not be as observant as lack of sleep and other priorities have shifted my life in many ways. And yet I think it has made me more grateful when I do notice these beautiful moments of observation.
I'm grateful for the turning leaves. I'm grateful that my favorite month and favorite season are here to be celebrated. I'm grateful for the beauty of nature all around me. I'm grateful to observe my world to the best of my capabilities in each moment and I'm grateful for a husband that will help expand and refresh my view when it narrows.
What will you observe today? When was the last time you spent time in nature? What beauty is around you?
May today bless us all with moments to refresh and connect with nature. May we see the beauty in the little things while opening our eyes to the bigger picture. Have a beautiful day!
