Today I realized my daughter and I seem to "have a new system." For the third day in a row she has woken between five and five-thirty in the morning just to nurse and then goes back to sleep. So far this going back to sleep has meant her sleeping in until around eight and me going ahead and getting up to start my day and enjoy the quiet of a sleeping house.
For me, this is an old system tweaked with the addition of a child. I used to always get up early and blog, meditate, and do yoga before the rest of the house got up. And while I admit waking up this early is much harder than it was before the addition of my daughter, I am still really enjoying this quiet start.
I'm grateful to revise an old system that worked well. I'm grateful for this change in my daughter's sleep pattern. I'm grateful to do my best to roll with it and adjust our day according to this new sleep schedule. I'm grateful for quiet time to myself. I'm grateful for the Universe answering my request and offering this time as a solution to my needs. And I'm grateful to find relaxation to help replace the energy of a little less sleep.
What systems or habits are working for you? Which ones could you tweak to serve you better?
May today remind us that change can be beneficial. May we find tweaks to our schedule that are supportive of our overall health. Have a beautiful day!
