Sometimes when I step outside to let the dog out I am caught by the beauty of the night sky or the way the sunlight comes through the trees. This time of year it is the leaves that catch my attention. I love the yellows, reds, and oranges of the changing Autumn leaves. But it also makes the green leaves seem more beautiful too.
Autumn is my favorite time of year. The cooler mornings, the abundance of pumpkins and gourds, and the color-changing beauty all around me inspire awe. I love that even a couple days can repaint the same image slightly as the leaves brighten into their new colors.
I'm grateful for this time of year. I'm grateful for the changing scenery and the beauty the colors bring to the trees. I'm grateful to live in a neighborhood full of mature trees. I'm grateful to live on a hill that gives me a good view of the Autumn changes. I'm grateful for the rain to nourish the trees and I'm grateful for a pause in it to allow the creeks and rivers to recover from the excess. I'm grateful to watch my daughter as she finds the different colors of leaves on the ground and to get to share with her my love for this season.
What is your favorite thing about Autumn? What takes your breath away in the nature where you live?
May today remind us to reconnect to the beauty of nature. May we find the time to get outside and enjoy the scene. Have a beautiful day!
