We both went to bed early and crashed pretty hard but it was no surprise when she woke up crying out for me in the middle of the night. She needed reassurance and just wanted me to hold her hand. As extra measure she tucked her feet into my robe so I couldn't sneak off once she fell asleep. It didn't matter. Being just as tired as she was we both fell quickly to sleep and I didn't even resist spending the rest of the night in her bed. It was where I needed to be.
I'm grateful to stay with my daughter last night. I'm grateful she still needs snuggles sometimes and that I am the chosen one for that job. I'm grateful we both caught up on some sleep. I'm grateful to stay still and rest even after I woke to just be in the moment and listen to my sleeping girl. I'm grateful to start the morning slow and keep us both relaxed as we start into another off-schedule day.
How do you reset? What is your favorite way to reconnect and rebalance? What gift can you give yourself today as you move through your day?
May today allow us to find that sweet spot of balance. May we move at our heart's speed and still trust everything to be done on time. Have a beautiful day!
