I'm grateful to wake to a beautiful foggy morning. I'm grateful for how the fog gives focus to what is near us while fading anything too distant. I'm grateful because it is a reminder to not concern myself with all that may or may not happen but simply focus on what is right here in front of me at the moment. So often we spend our day running from task to task to get it all accomplished, always setting our sights six steps ahead. The fog brings me back to what is in front of me right now. I'm grateful to sit. I'm grateful to breathe. I'm grateful to allow my fingers to slow, typing this out calmly, knowing the thoughts I want to share do not need to be rushed. I'm grateful for the soft sounds of bugs and birds singing outside. I'm grateful for the calmness, even in my dogs this morning. It as if the fog has moved in and reminded all to just breathe. I'm grateful to feel at one with the fog, feel it's embrace and it's calmness. I'm grateful to recognize that what is in focus for me is not necessarily in focus for my neighbor and I may not even be in focus from their view. Priorities are different depending on what is going on in different peoples' lives. This difference in priority is not a reflection of worth. We are all worthy independently of whose priority we may or may not be. Can you feel your own beauty and worth? Are you able to see it when others are distant? What is in your focus today, in this moment? Embrace what is in your focus. Give yourself priority. Allow yourself time to sit and breathe and know that, no matter what, you are so loved! Have a beautiful day!
