"The Boatman" is not a lullaby from my childhood but rather one that was given to me by a friend during my spiritual journey. It is sung by Tom Kenyon and for those of you who have not heard it, here is a YouTube link for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJvfnUWbFag
The idea of being on my own journey yet still guided and cared for is very comforting. I certainly enjoy that in my everyday life, with my amazing family and friends. So drifting off to sleep to travel with the boatman is reassuring and soothing. And after making this simple shift last night, I had several very interesting dreams and reconnected with some of my dream space people.
I woke this morning to the lullaby of the rain, a much needed treat. It was both a relaxing sound that made it easy to stay in bed and also a relief for the plants and trees outside. And I feel a renewed commitment to discovering what new routine will work best for me now.
I'm grateful for Tom Kenyon's music. I'm grateful for the song "The Boatman". I'm grateful for my friend that gifted me with such a powerful song. And I'm grateful to start this new shift and exploration knowing that I am both supported and guided on this journey. I'm grateful for this beautiful world and for the beauty and knowledge held within dream space. And I'm grateful to start a new day.
What is your favorite lulling song? When was the last time you used a soothing song to fall asleep?
May today bless you with time for self-care. May you find ways to celebrate this beautiful journey. Have a beautiful day!
