I am a little sad, though I have not really taken the time yet to pinpoint its origin. Each time I start to reflect I instead have memories of my youth popping into my mind. One in particular is the tradition of ding-dong-ditching flowers on family members' doorsteps. It was so fun to put a little bouquet together, ring the doorbell, and let them find he flowers as a lone surprise at the door. This memory makes me happy and I begin to feel the clouds lifting inside.
I'm grateful for little memories like this. As my daughter gets older, I hope we can re-create some of these fun traditions as well as make some of our own. I'm grateful for the beauty of May Day. I'm grateful to be heading into the month of my wedding anniversary. I'm grateful for showers that water the earth and make the plants grow healthy. And I'm grateful for my family. I'm grateful too, for the gentle stirrings I hear upstairs of my little one waking up. I'm grateful to start a new day together.
What memories of childhood make you smile? Is there someone you could give flowers to today?
May we be blessed with beauty today. May we feel joy bloom in our hearts. Have a beautiful day!
