I'm so grateful for wonderful dreams last night and for the fun of interpreting them. I'm grateful for the sound of the rain that is so soothing. Today I am grateful to listen to these soft sounds outside my window. Over the course of yesterday I pretty much have lost my voice. Today it is a squeaky whisper. But rather than fight to speak I am choosing to accept this gift as a sign to listen. The purr of the refrigerator, the hum of my laptop with keys clicking away, a dog sigh, all join together to make music with the steady rain outside. There are so many sounds we miss in the usual hustle and bustle of our day. Today I will take the time to pay attention and I will use this, not to stress over what I can't do, but as a sign of which things truly need to be done in this moment. What are the signs telling you to pay attention to today? How often do you stop to just listen?
I believe the way to a better future starts with gratitude today.
