As I was making breakfast this morning I couldn't help but think that people are like omelets. We are each made up of different experiences, likes, and dislikes that makes us uniquely perfect. Sometimes our own perfection is not appreciated by others who prefer a different "flavor" but their preference and opinion does not change the inherent fact that we are each perfect. This morning, as I made my omelet, I threw in some sweet peppers, spinach, bacon, artichoke hearts, garlic, and cheese. A year ago my omelets consisted of only cheese and spinach, which I still do enjoy. But different experiences and exploring new things have added to my personal omelet palette. Some of you may be thinking that sounds delicious while others may be cringing at the idea of certain ingredients I have added. Each ingredient on it's own is a perfect creation and delicious to me. Therefore, as a whole, how can it be anything less than perfect as well? I have had 32 years of experiences, some sour and some sweet. Some of these experiences nourished me, while others were more a filler for the time being. Each of those experiences has made me who I am today. Each of those experiences has played a role in the path I am on and which direction I will choose next. Each of those experiences is a blessing for which I am grateful. I'm grateful to eat a delicious breakfast today. I'm grateful to take the time to nourish my body in this way. I'm grateful to see the reflections and lessons in simple things. I'm grateful to be like an omelet and I'm grateful for all the variety of omelet combinations in my life that keep life interesting and give me other views and insights. I'm grateful for our similarities and our differences and I'm grateful to know all of us are love. What kind of omelet are you? How have you changed over the years and what blessings can you find within this new perfection? May your day be blessed with variety and may you open your heart to all the unique beauty around you. Have a beautiful day!
