As always I try to take comfort and guidance from signs. I have sought out these signs in helping me deal with the emotions I am having. At a friend's party the other night I saw this quote by Anita R. Sneed-Carter. "A shining star will never lose its luster, because Christ causes it to shine."
My husband and I had several conversations over the weekend about the differences in religion and beliefs and the need to sometimes translate the specifics or look for the overall meaning in the message. I was sharing that my belief in signs can come from anywhere and borrowed his bible as an example. I said, "what do I need to hear today?" and opened the book. It fell open to Psalm 23, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil." Even with the difference in religions this needs little translation for me; I know this psalm well.
I'm grateful today, not about religion, but about the ability to look beyond the boxes we put things in and find loving messages. I'm grateful for the discussions my husband and I have that are open and loving. I'm grateful for the signs I receive and comfort I find. I'm grateful to feel in my heart that most religions are the same in their message and differ mainly in the choice of words to describe this message. I'm grateful for all the support I have been receiving in many different ways to help me with my emotions. I'm grateful to believe in divine timing and grace. And I'm grateful to continue to give Austin the best life I can offer her while she is here.
What beliefs speak to you? How do you receive comfort and messages?
May today provide loving comfort in the way we each need. May we be open and accepting of how each other hears the message of love. Have a beautiful day.
