This is a time of beauty but also a time of hustle and bustle. It is the time of year that is often claimed to have the most joy but also the most stress. And within these two, there is a balance to be found. For me, that balance is in gratitude (shocking, I know).
When schedules get too packed and stress begins to build that is my cue to look at what I can let fall away for the moment. I turn to my gratitude and see which things are most important. And I try to give myself a break for the things that must wait or be let go all together.
Today I am so grateful for a deep breath of air. I'm grateful to have a long, hot bath last night and a great night's sleep. I'm grateful to wake early and rested to do my morning meditation. I'm grateful to start this day fresh and this week with a smile. I'm grateful for the new clients I will meet today and for my monthly Conscious Cup group that I will see this morning. I'm grateful for the beautiful, loving people in my life and to get to share this season with them. I'm grateful for the love and snuggles of my dogs this morning as they realize the work week is beginning again. And I'm grateful for my loving husband who is so supportive and handsome.
These are the things I am grateful for. They are not new. They are repeated. But they are the core foundation of my gratitude and they will guide me to what is important. Doing the job I love and meeting new people balanced with making time for friends and loved ones; these are my priorities. The rest, like holiday sales and clearing the yard, can wait.
What are your core gratitudes? What priorities do they show? And how can you find a balance in that this holiday season?
May today bless you with a great start to the week. May you find balance within your schedules and joy within your heart. Have a beautiful day!
