I am so grateful for a night of laughter with great people under a Full Moon! I had never tried Laughter Yoga until last night. It was not what I was expecting but it was great! It was so interesting to feel the initial insecurity and discomfort with laughing in a group of people I did not know and to be doing it for no "reason". I watched as people walked away, not feeling that it was something they wanted to do in that moment. But I know the benefits of laughter (reducing stress, releasing endorphins, altering your mood, and working out your abs, as well as several other benefits) and I have been working on clearing my throat chakra. I have been working on strengthening my voice and projecting it so I can be heard. And I have been working on allowing my laughter to be audible instead of the silent laughter I had been accustomed. So Laughter Yoga was a great exercise for me. One that I plan to incorporate into my daily routine... in fact, I am practicing different laughs as I am typing this. There are so many different sounds that can come out in laughter! And what a FUN way for me to practice exercising my vocals! Was it awkward last night in front of other people? Yes, at first but pretty soon I was laughing for real because of the silliness. Then something else amazing happened! I was talking to a woman, Sara, after that exercise and mentioned I was looking for a voice coach (for those of you who don't know me, I lose my voice very easily and generally speak fairly softly). It turns out Sara is a voice coach that just moved to town a few months ago! Love, love, LOVE those kinds of synchronicities! Ask and the universe will provide! I'm so grateful to have had the courage to be open about my needs! I'm so grateful that Sara came over to speak to me! And I'm so grateful for laughter! The night continued with more play as we each found different ways to push our comfort levels a little and be silly! I'm grateful for the night of fun! I am also grateful for some new shadows that showed themselves to me last night. While they were not as fun as laughing they were good messages that I plan to share once I finish processing and gain a better understanding of them. Until then, I hope you all have a beautiful, FUN day! It's HUMP day! What better day to laugh?! How many different types of laughter can you make? How can you incorporate laughter into your daily routine? Notice what insecurities may pop up as you try this activity. There is no need for judgement, though, just laugh it off!
