As I navigate the role of working mom I could not feel more blessed for my family and community. The saying, "it takes a village" is absolutely true. I know that this adjustment would be much harder for me if I were putting my daughter in daycare. Having family and friends to step in and watch her during my always-changing schedule is a true blessing. I'm so grateful for my husband's flexible hours so that I may work evenings. I'm so grateful for my mom taking time off her own job when needed to spend time with her granddaughter. I'm grateful for my brother's flexibility in allowing me to bring her in to work and watching her on his breaks. And I'm grateful for my sister-in-law taking time on weekends to spend some time snuggling my sweet girl. I'm grateful to know my child is so loved. I'm grateful to feel so supported. And I'm grateful for all the love my family has received from family and friends. I'm grateful for my "village". Who makes up your village? Who are you grateful for and when was the last time you told them? May today remind us that we are not alone. May we see the beauty and value in our community and family. May we cherish the people in our lives that support us. Have a beautiful day! |
