I think it is so important to practice inclusion in our schools. Every child deserves to be included and every child should have the opportunity to be exposed to those who are different than themselves. It is one way we learn.
Inclusion should not be limited to schools and to children. As a society it is so important to practice inclusion of everyone, no matter how different from us they may seem. We all have a basic need to feel loved and safe. We all have a basic need to connect and feel accepted. It is asked that we love everyone, not everyone that acts, dresses, or believes the same as us.
I feel this message is extra important as we enter into a month that is notoriously difficult for so many. Whether they have special needs, are a different religion, gender identity, sexual preference, or whatever the case may be; please use this opportunity to include them. Please use this opportunity to give kindness and acceptance.
I'm grateful to see special needs kids included both in school practices and out on the playground. I'm grateful for the awareness and changes in perception of kids with special needs so they are nurtured to grow to the best of each of their unique ability. I'm grateful for inclusion in every facet and every dynamic of life. I'm grateful to know there are people out there, like me, that are willing to respect each person. I'm grateful for this month where people can choose to open their hearts a little extra and reach out to those in need. I'm grateful for everyone who goes out of their way to make others feel included and loved.
How can you reach out to someone who may be struggling this month? How can you practice inclusion in your everyday life?
May everyone find support this month and know they are cherished for who they are. May acceptance and inclusion reach across the globe. Have a beautiful day!
