Yesterday and this morning I have been practicing mindfulness; living in each moment. It has been easy to get swept up in all the projects around the house that needs done and all the work I need to do. It's easy to get caught in the rush and let myself feel like there isn't enough time. Yet, yesterday in practicing being aware and fully committed to what I was doing each moment, I had a more productive day than I have in a while. I got the yard partially weeded, mowed, and edged. I got the front door and accent walls on the exterior of the house washed and painted their new color, studied for my scuba class, completed the itinerary and outline for an upcoming mother/daughter retreat I'm hosting, bathed the dogs, vacuumed and was still ready in more than enough time to play with my dogs before seeing my client. As I awaited our meeting the rain moved in. I kicked back and stuck my feet out the window and felt the raindrops landing on my toes as I listened to the thunder. Even as I woke this morning I felt more in tuned with what my body needed and took the time to do yoga, truly being present with each move. It is amazing the difference I feel. I'm so grateful for this practice. I'm so grateful to BE with each moment and to return to it when I catch my mind wandering. I'm grateful to have felt the raindrops on my toes and feel the thunder rumble through me. I'm grateful that my client is gaining confidence and self-esteem each day and making amazing progress. I'm grateful to listen to what my body, mind, and spirit needs and provide that as best I can. I'm grateful to find productivity within this space. How can you practice mindfulness throughout your day? How would it feel to not feel rushed from one task to the next? How can you tune in to each task you are doing? I'm so grateful for those of you that already practice mindfulness and have helped guide me to this practice. I'm grateful for this reminder for myself and I'm grateful to pass along this testimonial to those of you who have not tried it yet. May your day be blessed with the mindfulness to support your needs. May each moment bring love and joy into your life.
