Yesterday as I sat at a stoplight I saw a beautiful act of kindness. A young woman's car had broken down in the road. High school had just let out and a young man was walking passed. He asked if she needed help and then called out to a couple other high school guys who were walking. They helped push the woman's car to a nearby side street.
May of us grow up thinking the world is a scary place. There are people out there who cause harm or terrorize and these few are the ones who make the news. But the overwhelming majority of people are kind and helpful. I have experience the generosity and kindness of strangers many times. Humanity is a loving race.
I'm so grateful to get to witness acts of kindness amongst strangers. I'm grateful for the kindness of the young men who stopped to help. I'm grateful for all the loving people I have met. I'm grateful to feel kin to humanity as a whole. I'm grateful to see passed any illusions of separation that society has created. And I'm grateful to recognize all the good in the world.
What acts of kindness have you seen recently? What was the kindest thing someone has done for you?
May today remind us we are all on the same rollercoaster called life. May we give love instead of judgement and help others when we can. Have a beautiful day!
