It is said that we need at least 8 hugs a day to survive and 12 to thrive. This physical connection is an important part of our wellbeing. A simple act, and yet it is one that can be easily overlooked in the bustle of a busy day.
I'm grateful for the hugs of children when it is spontaneous and genuine. I'm grateful for the hugs of my husband that are strong and comforting. I'm grateful for hugs from friends and family in the variety of strengths and contexts. And I'm grateful to feel myself be rejuvenated after a good hug, like my reset button has been pushed.
What helps you feel better when you are overwhelmed? When was the last time you received a hug? When was the last time you offered a hug to someone you love?
May today be filled with warm embraces. May you get enough hugs to thrive and may you return the gesture to those you love. Have a beautiful day!
