I'm grateful for the little metal sign of the Pillsbury Doughboy that reads "nothing says lovin' like something from the oven!" I'm grateful for the smile it always gives me. I'm grateful for the didgeridoo that sits by the fireplace, that I have yet to learn to play but holds such promise. I'm grateful for the little Swedish gnome holding a dala horse that stands on the mantel reminding us of my fiancée's heritage. I'm grateful for the vase of flowers that sits next to me as I type, smelling wonderful; a gift from my love. It is true that these are all "just things" and yet the nostalgia and symbolism behind why each has a place in our home inspires my gratitude today.
What makes your house a home? What objects hold meaning to you? May today bless you with feelings of love. May you find comfort in the space you call home. Have a beautiful day!
