Stacks of black and pink boxes of breastfeeding supplies and bottles, a bin of bibs and burp rags, and the fancy baby food maker and bottle warmer that my husband found are no doubt a big mess in here. And yet instead of feeling stressed I find myself staring at them and smiling. It is reassuring. My daughter will arrive soon and we are, as best we can be, prepared.
I'm grateful for this happy mess. I'm grateful to feel prepared, at least as far as having the right supplies, to launch into motherhood. I'm grateful for my husband's excitement and his eagerness to be a part of making homemade baby food. I'm grateful to know that soon our real kitchen island will replace the folding table in our kitchen and these items will have a place to actually be stored. And I'm grateful that until then it is a happy reminder of the excitement and changes to come.
How does mess and clutter affect you? How can you use this effect to your advantage?
May today bless us with the power to know ourselves and take the steps needed to support ourselves. Have a beautiful day!
