I'm grateful to wake up to a grey, overcast sky. Usually I am so in love waking up to the sun rising in the morning but the grey today is kind of like a long exhale. It helped me to stay relaxed and present in my yoga and meditation. It allowed me the slow wake up that I needed to start this day rested and energized. Often we are quick to judge and frown at the overcast days but just as the sunny day is a fresh, deep breath in, we also need these days of exhaling. I'm also grateful as I look out the window this morning that with the snow on the ground and overcast skies it appears like an old black and white photograph, preserved and pristine. I'm grateful for the contrasts that stand out more in this grey world that are sometimes overlooked or distracted by color. I'm grateful for the clear, crisp lines of my environment that I sometimes can not see in daily living. I'm grateful to see the beauty in this day and see that its lack of color is not lack of beauty. I'm grateful to know that its lack of color is not lack of love. What do you love about grey days? How do you celebrate the exhales
I believe the way to a better future starts with gratitude today.
