It has been a little while since I issued a gratitude challenge... or perhaps gratitude opportunity would be a better choice of words. Today I offer you the opportunity to think of 10 people you are grateful for and let them know why. I also challenge you to think of 5 things you are grateful for that you don't think you have ever said before.
I am grateful for my dad for so many reasons but most of all for being an amazing role model. He has showed me what true generosity is and how important it is to put family first.
I'm grateful for my mom because she too has been an amazing role model on being positive and showing unconditional love. She also helped unleash my creativity.
I'm grateful for my husband who never ceases to surprise and amaze me with his love and support. He gives me a different perspective to certain things and yet supports our differences.
I'm grateful for my brother who has been my biggest teacher in this life. He has taught me how to be tough but also that someone always has my back if I need it.
I'm grateful for my sister (in-law) because she is a beautiful balance to our family. I could not have picked a better sister and I'm so grateful for all she models for me both as a business woman and as a strong and talented person.
I'm grateful for my grandpa. He has taught me so much about natural health and overcoming obstacles. He has taught me about fighting for what you believe in and the power of persistence.
I'm grateful for my friend, Tasha, who has showed me what true courage is over the last few months. She is an inspiration to me and a wonderful model of the balance between persistence and play.
I'm grateful for my friend, Keri, for teaching me what true friendship is about. We have grown up together and gone through the changes of becoming adults together. She teaches me more every day about the power one person can make in this world.
I'm grateful for my friend, Annika. She has truly been a blessing in my life and has taught me so much about spirituality, trust, and connection.
Last, but certainly not least, I am grateful for my mother-in-law. She is the model of professionalism, persistence, and the ability to rise above challenge which I respect and admire. But more than that she is the amazing mother to my husband and I am so grateful for the wonderful job she did to help him become the man he is today.
Obviously there are so many more people I could express gratitude for today and everyday. Who are you grateful for today? What impact have they made on your life?
Now for the five things I have probably never said before; I am grateful for screws. Without screws most of my building projects, like my deck or the home I live in would be unstable. I'm grateful for leashes that allow me to safely walk my dogs. I'm grateful for Dala horses that are a symbol of heritage and creative craftsmanship. I'm grateful for river rocks that provide an awesome palate for creativity. And I'm grateful for maps, though widely inaccurate they remind me the importance of dreaming and pushing the limits.
What gratitude can you find in the world around you today? Will you accept this opportunity to expand your gratitude?
May today bless us with a heart overflowing with love and gratitude. Have a beautiful day!
I believe the way to a better future starts with gratitude today.
