I came home to my family working together to build my dream for my daughter's new room. Jumping in to help be a part of the transformation filled my heart. I am overflowing with excitement to complete it and surprise my daughter!
Every Sunday we have family lunch with my parents, brother, and sister (in-law). This week was our turn to host and I always try to serve something made with love. Two types of enchiladas with a few sides and a table of full bellies was a picture of love.
As we wound down our weekend last night, my husband proposed we spend some time at the park. He was wanting to fly the drone and we were confident our toddler could use some time to run and play outdoors. Since the weather was milder than it has been and the parks are usually quiet on a Sunday evening, we took our dog along.
I know my dog has been struggling the last several weeks with being an only dog. Her sister passing away has been tough, especially when we are gone so much. I do my best to give her attention while I am home but the added blow of not being able to go on walks (because of a hurt leg) has really zapped her spirit. Taking her to the park last night she was all smiles. Her joy was palpable to be with us and enjoying the weather.
I'm grateful for a weekend of giving love. I'm grateful for all the ways it gave me love in return. I'm grateful to help nourish my family. I'm grateful to work in a job that helps people feel their best. I'm grateful for all the joy my daughter brings me and I'm grateful to give love back to her in abundance. I'm grateful to watch my imagination come to life in her room and all the hard work my husband and papa are going to to create it! I'm grateful to get to be a part of that creative process with painting, designing, and building. I'm so grateful to see my dog smile again. I'm grateful to find little ways to cheer her and lift her spirit.
How do you give love? How do you find balance by receiving love? Who could use some of your love today?
May today remind us that there is balance in giving. May we recognize the ways we receive love and give it generously in return. Have a beautiful day!
