While I believe it is important to try and let things go that have happened in our past that no longer serve us, especially if they are standing in the path of our joy, I feel the phrase "get over it" often causes more harm than good. There is an exasperation and sometime even judgment that goes along with this phrase. But if your internal love translator is on and working, the message to allow healing is a good one.
Now, in the process of healing, it is important to nourish your soul and your body. Perhaps this is where celebrating meatballs come in. Haha! How about some good, old-fashioned comfort food like mom used to make of spaghetti and meatballs?
No matter where you are today and what you are going through, I hope that you will see some light at the end of your tunnel. I hope that you will find some humor in the little things. And I hope you find ways to nourish and care for yourself.
I'm grateful to find humor in a simple email. I'm grateful for my mom's delicious meatballs. I'm grateful to know that healing is a process. I'm grateful to be feeling fairly light and conflict free right now. I'm grateful to know I can handle what comes and that I have an amazing support network. And in this moment, I'm grateful to start the day laughing!
What little things can you find to laugh about today? How do you feel about the phrase "get over it?" When was the last time you ate meatballs?
May today bless you with love and support. May you find humor in the simple things. Have a beautiful day!
PS: I just want to add that I am not encouraging, nor making light of emotional eating. It is a very real challenge that many people face each day. Love to those going through this challenge. If you are needing support in a challenge you are facing please reach out to someone you trust or to a trained professional. You are not alone.
