My dogs have struggled a bit these last three months with sharing the attention and almost always coming second to the baby. This weekend a package came in the mail and it was for them. I ordered them each a new color. Putting on their new collars they held their heads high with pride and it was like a renewal of thier spirits.
Pippin was so playful, bringing me her ball and her toys. As the baby played happily on her activity mat I threw Pippin's ball for probably fifteen minutes and she ate up the attention. Austin came and laid with her head on my leg, enjoying some neck scratches in between me throwing the ball. And my daughter watched intrigued as Pippin ran back and forth.
It was a great family moment. It felt so good to have some time for my fur-babies. And it filled my heart to see how happy they were with their new collars and some attention. It truly is the simple things.
I'm grateful for these moments. I'm grateful to be finding a bit of balance as I grow a little more accustomed to life with a new baby. I'm grateful for my dogs' patience as we all test out our new roles. I'm grateful to find the dogs some nice new collars and I'm grateful for their happy response. I'm so grateful for my family, fur-babies and all.
What was one beautiful moment of your weekend? What is your favorite thing about your pet?
May today bless us with little moments that mean so much. May we take the time to celebrate our furry friends. Have a beautiful day!
